Ethiopia uses different calendar that the middle of September is a new year for them. Even they call 3 pm night 12 am. Strange country, Ethiopia.
25th Sept 2013
I am too tired to cycle after taking the worst bust last night that I go to a cheap hotel. After sleeping and doing laundry by hand, I have dinner. This is a typical Ethiopian food.
26th Sept 2013
I think because of injera, the white thing, I have loose bowels. Ethiopia is known as hell to cyclists. It is safe country, but the thing is people bother cyclists so much ever.
As getting out of the town, I see camels.
It is my first time to see a camel on my way.
It is really huge.
A camel is eating.
This one moves like a robot. So interesting
Its eyes moves like a 360-degree revolution.
Many camels on a truck
The first day in Ethiopia is okay. Of course many people are begging and bothering; but it is not much. I set up my tent early. A local people invites me for dinner. It is my first food which I can’t eat. It is too sour ever. But I eat all of them, because I don’t want to be rude.
27th Sept 20133
Another diarrhea in the morning. I can’t understand why injera meks me sick. This bird is different kind from which I’ve seen. It is named Vulturine Guinea Fowl.
Interesting
In my experience Ethiopia is the poorest country.
Lonely road
Suddenly in the morning my derailleur is broken again.
I lay down my bike to hitchhike. One big truck gives me a ride. The driver speaks only local language that we couldn’t talk much.
We stop just for his job for half hour.
In the next city, it is quite a big, but I couldn’t find a part what I need. We have lunch, ,which is called Byaynte.
Most of Ethiopian believes Orthodox that they don’t eat meat on Wed and Fri.
It is Ethiopian coffee that only 30 cents for one cup.
The diver says he will slaughter a goat he buys.
The road looks so peaceful that I don’t need to worry about being harassed.
Local people with cows
Camel is exported to Egypt
He is sitting on the truck with cows.
It is so green
.
It is totally different scenery from what I usually see.
It looks so quiet.
Flowers beside the road
It seems many people live on a poor condition.
Motor taxi
Hilly
The driver drops me at the big city. The man on the picture says to me that he can fix my bike. But After two hours, he still struggles. I find another guy, and he puts a new derailleur. But it is not working well. I hope I can use it at least until Addis. Then I am gonna change all of them.
One is for 3 Birr (0.15$). I couldn’t buy bread that I just bought lots of snack. I stay in the cheapest hotel. It is too noise with local music in the night. Anyway Ethiopia is very interesting country for me.
